h/o alt

looking to get or find out about a h/o alt for a 2008 dodge caliber. big3 upgrade has been done, have a rf 4g amp kit, optima redtop under hood. now maybe upgrade the alt? factory alt is rated at 120amp. what amp rating should i get? oh, rf t1000bdcp, at 2ohms=1344wrms at 14.4 volts. some light dimmage, not severe. just wanting to do what i can to maintain a steady voltage.

You shouldnt need one. Run 1/0 to the amp, get a small back battery, make sure the gain is right. Light dimming can happen even with upgraded alternator. Its about how fast the computer can respond to peaks and kick it on

i am trying not to add a second batt, want some room in the hatch. rf calls for 4g wire for the amp which is what i have and a stinger mini-amp fuse (150A) and holder.

larger wire the better. It will flow with less resistance. add a distro block by the amp and run the 4awg to it. A red top is not the best choice for audio

the only batt that would fit was a redtop. will 2g wire be big enough? short of second batt, what's the best way to stop dimmage? also most frugal way? the bdcp is sweeeet. just want to enjoy it to the fullest.

Like I said. Sometimes nothing helps. Ever car is differernt.
