I'll probably pick that shit up too. Or at least throw down with my friends on it or something.

I saw a stage demo of that game on gamespot today, and they played the fuggin Pixies - Wave of Mutilation, which is probably one of the coolest songs ever. Totally seemed like the funnest shit I could imagine to rock out playing that with some friends.

I just watched some vids of rockband, it looks ok. You can get both though, rockband doesn't come out till November 23.

yeah i know...somewhere i read guitar hero is the game to get to rock out on your own....rockband is what you get and play with the crew out in the living room

If you want people getting in on the action, the wii is where it's at. That thing is pretty entertaining whenever you are with friends. Guitar Hero II is fun to play with people because everyone knows what it is and generally knows how to play. is playin teh guitar as hard as playin guitar hero on expert?? i can do hard and get 3-4 stars on GH2 but i play it every so often,, cant get anybetter cause am too lazy to practice

theres a lot more skill involved in playing an actual guitar

Well let's see here, how many notes in how many keys with all sorts of stylistic improvization like bends, not to mention a conception of working with a musical pallette, vs. 5 buttons and preset patterns to press them in.
