Guitar gods

Right on 2kchevy as long as you have heard his solo everybody is different and forms their own opionon and i can respect that even though i cant spell it.
lol no worries friend. We all have different tastes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have played a bit of guitar in my time but I could never dedicate the time that some others have. Just using Zakk Wylde as an example, he used to sleep all day at school and then go home to practice all night, from the moment he got home till the moment he left for school again the next day. His use of pentatonic scale is quite pleasing.

Also, I have never ever heard of Randy Rhoads being in The Scorpions. From 78 onwards it has been pretty much Meine, Jabs, and Schenker exclusively in various guitar roles and it was primarily Ulrich Roth before. They are from Hanover and have had almost exclusively German band members, so I don't believe that Rhoads was ever involved. We need some proof of such.

Since bassists are being brought up, I'll throw in Cliff Burton and Stu Hamm. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

stu Hamm for sure. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Neil. I agree dude. Same goes for Randy, he grow up into music because his mom was a music teacher and he was just brought up with school. Even when he was on tour he would still take music lessons. He was a gift for sure, to bad we'll never see his true work because he died at such a young age.

His death was sheer stupidity, unfortunately. I say this all the time and some agree, some don't: Randy Rhoads was really good because he paid the attention necessary to classical guitar and music. When you listen to a lot of current guitarists, you can hear the lack of diversity in their skills and sound because they've been listening to death metal for 10 years and nothing else. To truly appreciate music, I think you need to be well versed in all aspects of it.

Except rap. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Billy Gibbons and Carlos Santana have yet to be mentioned...

As for bassists, it's Les Claypool/Jaco Pastorious at the top, closely followed by Flea, Geddy Lee, and Victor Wooten.

Yes he was very much influenced by classical music. I liked him better than Zakk, actually much better than Zakk. Just listen to the solo to Mr. Crowley, or at least watch it on youtube or something. God that solo is insane.
