I'm going to agree with just about everyone already mentioned. I'm also going to add Kirk Hammett and Zakk Wylde. Not just because they can play, but how they play. Wylde's techniques never seize to amaze me.

I only ask because I've never heard that before and can't find any info that he was ever associated with the Scorpions.

Randy Rhoads along with Kirk Hammett, are the original reasons as to why I picked up a guitar in the first place. Both are very very amazing guitarists(kirk had lessons from Satriani for you guitar n00bs). I'm also a big fan of Steve vai, Jason Becker, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, SRV, David Gilmour, Tom Morello, and Adam Jones. I'm not really a Petrucci fan because I'm not that interested in his work. Don't get me wrong he is a decent guitar player, I just don't really see him belonging on stage with Joe Satriani or Steve Vai. Eric Johnson or Gilbert on the other hand, well they are def worthy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

Eric Johnson is soooooooooo fast and his melodic music riffs are just so beautiful. Seriously, download cliffs of Dover for anyone who hasn't listened to his work. Amazing.

I love Glimour for the fact that he always used the "less is more" attitude. Meaning you don't need to shred to sound amazing.

John Pertucci is actually on the most current G3 tour with vai and satraini. He doent get alot of respect i highly suggest you check out his solo work called suspended animation. Just listen to the 2 songs that i previously mentioned and see if id doesnt change your mind.

Adam Jones has amazing technique and amazing pedal work. i dont see how he gets some of the sounds that he does out of the guitar.

trust me I've listened to his work. I have heard his solo work suspended animation which he showed when he was on the g3 tour 05, Glasgow Kiss is a decent riff I just don't find him that amazing honestly. Also, Gilbert was on tour with G3 this year. Not Petrucci.

Adam Jones has amazing technique and amazing pedal work. i dont see how he gets some of the sounds that he does out of the guitar.

He isn't a fan of Pedals, or at least he says that in Interviews but he does use a wah pedal a lot. You can def hear it in Lateralus(the solo). Yes he makes some amazing sounds but you can probably thank his vh4 guitar head for that. He also uses delay a lot.

Right on 2kchevy as long as you have heard his solo everybody is different and forms their own opionon and i can respect that even though i cant spell it.
