Resonating Reticular
Okay, well... I didn't really know where to post this. But I need someone to look in amazement [Or at least look down upon] what I did.
STORY:
My brother bought a Crate beginner guitar kit, which came with a guitar, strings, an amp, and some cables... well, he got another guitar after that and gave me the guitar. The Guitar was garbage, so I decided to do something... special with the amp.
I decided to turn it into a speaker.
I opened the back, and did a simple trial and error thing. I got some old blown computer speakers I had, snipped them, stripped them, put one side into my iPod, and played a song, and proceeded to try them on soldered points on the amp's board. At first, I tried the 'Input' jack. Which didn't work, and discouraged me. But, then I tried the 'Insert' jack, and to my surprise, I heard sound!!
I soldered, and put the back on again.
And, to my surprise, it doesn't sound half bad.
PICTURE TIME!!
And my full booty-set-up including modified Sony Vaio [Again, my Brother's] speakers. He lost the power cable, so I had to solder a new one on. I don't have a dremel, so I had to mount it [VIA tape... It wasn't meant to look nice, people] to the side.
I later added more speakers, but they weren't getting enough power, so I scrapped them.
That's my story. Hope you at least can get a laugh.
P.S. Incase you're wondering, the knobs don't do sh*t. Since it's insert, I guess, it bypasses all of that... and yes, I found out the hard way when I had the volume at 1 and I turned on the music and my ears started to bleed from the horrible noise coming from that speaker.
EDIT:: Doesn't sound bad for being Crate XD
Still sounds horrible.
