I wish I had the amount of money that you have to throw into a car audio system, but thus I would probably put that money into something more useful.
Nice, I take it you do all the installation and such yourself correct?Well I live at home, so really no bills except gas, which isnt even really an expense since all I do is work, and its 5 minutes from my house.
Im keeping the Expo, but Im not sure what kinds system Im doing. Im pretty sure I want it sealed, with a couple hundred watts a woofer, and a bunch of woofers.
Im stuck between 24 12s, 12 15s, or 16 15s.... Maybe even 24 15s if they need a small airspace and dont cost a ton.
anyways to get a picture of the engine bay?Yeah, voltage is always a problem. If I ever need to I could probably buy more HC2400s and see if that helps a little. If I had room for another 300amp alt, Id order it today.
I dont really care about the numbers... Its not a competition car. I compete for fun, but its my everyday car and I care about how it sounds. That being said, it probably could burp a 155 on a good day, from what Ive seen on meters on other days.
The sq was actually good, but the response was what Im not a fan of. I played with my amps as much as I could but I couldnt get it to sound the way I wanted. Just couldnt play regular music that well. Did nothing but low bass. It did the low bass extremely well... Hell it did hair tricks with a girl sitting in the passanger seat on music with both doors open no problem at all.
The reason why I want to start over is get something thats better for daily. 4,000rms a sub just doesnt let me do what I want. Im looking for something I can drive around every day and listen to any type of music, listen to it at whatever volume I want, and listen to it at that volume for however long I want. 4,000rms a sub wont let me do that, so its gotta go. Isnt it nice to be able to go to a show, pop in a CD, crank it up, and just walk away for 20 mins while its pounding away? Thats what Im looking for. Ill be at the RMS rating of whatever woofers I pick, if even that much. Everyone says that they got no problem playing theirs all day, and ive seen one system that took 4,500rms a woofer with ease for a long time. This guy I know had 2 15" BTLs and 2 RF T4ks in an S10 ext cab. He could crank it and let em play full tilt for about 30 mins before they got warm. Wasnt the case with mine. When you get to a system so complicated, there are so many little factors that can change everything.
So anyone got any cool ideas for a new system? If I feel like spending the money, it might be 24 12" SI BMs, but Ive heard they dont like sealed.... Whatever I buy Im getting a couple to test out first. I was talking to a rep about some RD Elite 15s.... 16 of them if I could fit them. Im also thinking about a bunch of CVR 12s or 15s... Hell, maybe even Fi Qs if I could fit them. Im just not sure right now, but while Im savin money I got time to think.
