Enforcement of ESRB ratings needs to be a first priority. Force stores to inform buyers of the rating and the reasons why it received that rating before it is sold. This won't completely prevent children from playing games they shouldn't be, but it will keep the game out of a lot of children's hands.

Actually the ratings are explained in detail in most stores that sell video games or they are supposed to. Anyone that consciously wants to do the right thing for their kids would do a little research before they bought a game. Again it comes back to parenting. These games are NOT the problem. Lazy assed American slobs are the problems. BTW these are the same people who get upset about certain TV programming because their kids (which they should have been watching) saw it. I literally hate these kind of people. When these kind people piss and moan about this stuff to be taken off the air or the shelves they are in effect trying to take away MY and every other adult's rights to watch or play this type of mat'l and that pisses me off to no end. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif

As an adult, I would like to be able to play games where content hasn't been censored because irresponsible people buy the games for children.

PARENTING !

me my bro and dad were discussing this matter over dinner, he was like "well at least you don't shoot at cops in the game", I'm like "uhh dad, you do shoot at cops, and steal things, knife hookers, kill drug dealers, steal cars, and blow shit up, not to mention they cuss, and the *** part isn't accesable as part of the game, you need a gameshark to get to it, and when you do they don't show and genatals, just some humping" he was like "oh well then what the hell is the big deal about the *** part then?"

Research isnt really needed... A parent could look at the cover of this game and determine that it is not appropiate for his/her 12 year old child. Jesus, look at the title... Grand Theft Auto. That itself should give some sort of impression of what the game is about.

They dont need better ratings, what they need is a little common sense.

I meant when someone wishes to purchase a game with a T, M, or A/O rating, the person selling it to them should have to explain to them that it has this rating and the reasons why it has this rating.
Have you seen how small the print is on the ESRB warnings ? Small-print + old people = suprised old people ...

True, but then the responsibility falls on the retailers shoulders and I have to say I don't see that happening. Decent idea though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
