i baught this sub bout a month ago to install revearse mount in my ranger. Well i had it hooked up to a kicker amp pushing 200rms watts to it and didnt think it was enough power. Ordered new amps and it sat in the box for 3 weeks. a couple days ago i got my new amps and installed them. While tuning everything, i started to hear flapping and turned around to see the cone torn.

ordered new sub, have no use for this. Idk if its fixable or whatever, but i thought id try and get rid of it.

prob can with some CA glue and silicone. Might change some characteristics of the driver however you will prob find them inaudible

iut sounded awesome for a sq setup, but i think in my ported box it just had to high of output and tore. i think i relized as much as im going for a SQ setup, i do crave a lil more SPL then i thought.

and the ported box was tuned to sub specs etc too, i just **** at tuning i guess and pushed it too hard.

no these subs are known for the cone to fold like that. too thin of material used. either way still a nice driver

ive read that before, but im sure i could of avoided pushing it too hard like i did. even though idk if i pushed it too hard. im running a pdx600.1 and had the gain under half way.

about 20yrs ago a buddy of mine poked a hole in his sub and he repaired it with a vinyl decal on both sides of the hole and then sprayed the front of the cone with undercoating to make it thicker AND THAT CHIT WORKED. it shocked me!:wow:looked like chit though.the things you do when you are young and poor:laugh:
