I have a HU that has a grounding cable designed to be connected to the chassis. Can anyone think of a good reason I shouldn't use the grounding cable in the vehicle's wireharness instead?
I ended up splitting the ground to the wireharness and frame 2 be extra careful. I will keep that info in mind, its definately something to consider.Depends on the age of your car. The ground distribution systems in modern vehicles are purposely designed, and I would use the harness ground intended for it. On older cars (like pre-90) the ground harness can be funky and routed to some god forsaken rusted bolt in the engine compartment... better to make a new ground for those.
