Ground

I have a 99 Dodge Intrepid, and I am using the factory radio. When grounding the factory radio, do I follow the orginal ground, and add to it. Or can I just disregard that ground all together, and ground some where else. If so what size wire should I use for the ground. This is an attempt to kill some engine noise.

there is no ground in the factory harness it is either bolted to the back of the radio or a wire that attaches to the back of the radio.
That is correct, can I just attach it from the back of the radio to a new ground position, or follow the ground that is there already?

just find a good amount of chassis ground behind the radio, back in the cavity..

run 2 ground wire's off of the ring terminal that you will ground to the chasiss of the car, allso use star washer's to ensure a good ground..

take one of the ground wires to the wire arness for the deck, and then the other ground wire to the bolt on the back of the deck to ground out the chasiss of the deck.

and you should have no problems.

It must have been an act of God. No noise at all, as if the car is not running. Now if I can get the subs from fading out when I go over a bump.
