my jl 450/4 keeps cutting out. i dont think its going into protect mode because i dont see the protect light commin on. last night i looked and i noticed that my cap ground and my sundown ground wires were very hott and that the coating had melted off the 4 ga ground to my cap. i think im going to ground the cap with 0 ga but why are the wires getting so hot?

resistance maybe ? Is the ground the same gauge as the power ? IS it grounded to bare clean metal ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You should always use the same gauge power and ground wire. Running 4 gauge ground is the same as running 4 gauge power, only the distance is less. Electricity still has to run through it...
