ground wire...is there a difference?

ok, i recently took out my old system, because i got a new car. now i want to put it back in, and i'm pretty sure i've got everything down i just need to find out the ground wire situation. do i need a specific one? it was the only wire i couldn't get out of my old car, so i don't know what gauge or whatever it is. just incase it's needed, my system is a jbl 1200.1 and an old XXX 12. i don't remeber how the sub is wired, but when everything is said and done i get the 1200 watts to it. my battery wire is a 4 gauge and if anything else is needed, just ask. i'll be checking up through out the day because i want to definately get it in today. thx

thx....do you happen to know what i'm supposed to do for my wiring harness though? my head unit has a clip, and it doesn't fit in into the clip for the car. does that mean that i need to clip all the wires from the old harness and match them up to the new harness?

there should be a plug that fits in the HU and a plug that fits in the car. If one doesn't fit you have to buy one that does, cut the one that doesn't fit off and reconnect the wires by function.

ok, i'm almost done, but how do i hook up the preouts...i think that's the only thing i've got left. i've got two hooked up to the amp, and there were three hooked up to my hu, and i don't remeber how to get them goin?

The pre-outs are the RCA's that go to the amplifiers. Usually one is an Aux, a front and then a sub. Hook the sub amp up to the sub out and any other accessory as needed. Answer your question?

no, i knew what they were. but do i hook up all the wires into all the plugs. and there's two right and left sets on my amp. i think i remember only the rights plugged into the amp..i'm not really sure?
