Ground issue on my dodge

Ok guys with dodge rams where did you ground your amps ? I have tried seat bracket bolts, front and back seats. The strap on rear of the cab bolt is another spot I tried. No luck still have a whine RCA are rockfords so I don't think it's those but going to switch those out soon to test. Pioneer deck but rcas are grounded on deck

Any ideas ?

Try and reinforce your ground. Look for the OEM ground strap from the body to the frame and replace it with zero gauge cable with ring terminals on either end but make sure all your connections are to clean metal not painted and/or dirty surfaces. On another note make sure you're RCA's aren't crossed or too close to any power cables cause this will introduce noise I realize this is almost impossible. A good solid ground from your head unit to the frame would also help reduce noise. Also have a look at the gains on your amplifier if they're set to high you'll obviously pick up more noise

^ Good thot. ^

OP, did you clean down to bare metal on the floor pan where the seat bolts, and install your ring terminal under them, i.e., put the amp grounds on first?

I couldn't agree more. I'm not sure what Dodge uses for a engine to firewall connection, but it's certainly a great idea to run a 1/0 awg cable in place or in conjuction with it.. Rockford Fosgate makes some good RCA's but they're not ALL shielded, and ingress is possibe if it's to close to ur power wires,. Im chasing down some alt whine right now myself so I feel uur pain bro. Good luck.

Most RCA cables are not truly shielded (if they were you would know because you would have to attach one side to ground)

get Radio Shack mini amped speaker. That way you can test the output of deck and rca's at amp with an amplifier independent from the system. Could just be the output from the deck. Pioneer seems to have a prob w/ that. I've put noise filters on the power input of the deck and have had the problem disappear.
