Great experience at best buy

Hey everyone. I hear lots of bad things about Best Buy and do agree with some of it but I thought I would share with you all a recent experience that I had at my local Best Buy.

Recently my passenger side midrange driver blew. I wasn't blasting the stereo and the speakers were not abused. Rather disappointed I contacted Alpine to inquire about warranty service but they would not service the product because it was not installed by Best Buy, and recommended I take it to where I bought it. So the next day i went into best buy and went over to customer service, got a copy of the receipt, and then went to the geek squad. The guy that helped me was very polite and helpful. After talking with him for about 5 minutes He told me that if I bring him both midrange speakers that they can do a swap for me. I said alright. He then arranged for me to take my car to the install bay and have the guys down there quickly remove the other speaker and install the new ones for me.

Now best buys prices may not be the greatest but I feel that that incident right there made it worth the extra 100 bucks I paid when I got the speakers at best buy instead of online. It was the best customer service I have received in quite a long time.

So Bravo to best Buy. (Wyomissing, PA... I dont know about others)

 
Wait... Alpine said that because BestBuy didn't install it they wouldn't honor their warranty? Thats weird...

Alpine didn't say best buy specifically. Basically since I did the install, they said they wouldent service it under the warranty. Guess I would have had to pay.

 
i bought an amp from then 2 yrs ago, and it blew a couple days ago. i took it to geek squad and they are going to get me a new amp once they get it tested that it does not work. and they dont have that amp any more so ill get one that they have now. so hopefully ill get a new in box amp from them that i can sell and buy an amp off line.

 
I went in and told him that the voice coil blew. (my best guess considering the sound it now makes) He asked me a few questions. Did you over poewr them and all that good shit.

They told me the same thing though that they dont have that model anymore. They did, just the item number in their system had changed. What amp did you get 99GrandPrixGT?

 
the best buy i go to they are always nice but i went to buy some headphones and i was lookin and reading the specs and this on guy came up and just kept tryin to sell me the 150 dollar bose and the first time i said no. so i was there for another like 5min and this other dude came up adn did the same thing so i said bose are over rated. and he got all butt hurt and walked away. it seems like they always try to push the most expesive think they have on me. i dont get it i will go back but i cant stand it.

 
Bestbuy is very good with their warranties, my girlfriend bought an ipod nano like 2 years ago and got an extended warranty. She recently went back before her warranty expired to get a new one because it broke, and they gave her a new ipod touch because it had the same price now as the nano did when she bought it...

I would never go to bestbuy for car audio advice or installations.

 
just depends on the person who is helping you out really

ive had decent expericances with best buy

always take care of thier warrantys

the car audio selection is not fantastic but decent mid range stuff
