great double bass

Divine Heressy - Entire Bleed the Fifth album. They have one of the fastest drummers in the world.

Most of Behemoth's catalogue has some heavy double bass. Cyberwaste by Fear Factory has some crazy double bass. Decapitated - The Negation is also a good album. Avenged Sevenfold - Sounding the Seventh Trumpet and City of Evil are both really good. For some reason Waking The Fallen did not have much double bass. Nile has a really fast drummer. They don't use double bass, but Story of the Year puts a lot of emphasis on the kick drum. It sounds real nice. The song Legion by At The Gates is good as is Raining Blood by Slayer. A few songs on As I Lay Dying - Shadows Are Security have a lot of quick drumming.

I really hope they come over here for a final tour.

I never said he was the greatest but I can appreciate his work. I'd pick Carter Beauford or Danny Carey over him anyways, I was just saying he has some good riffs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
I wasn't questioning you.

Only agreeing.

I realize you never said he was the greatest.

at least someone around here knows there music. They had a really horrible recording during that CD though. They had the guitars up a lot louder than the bass. You can't really hear Jasons riffs well.
Recording is ATROCIOUS. The music is great too, a refined old school Metallica. Very quick with great change-ups. But the recordings made for some bad anomalies on the guitar work in the lower frequencies. Absolutely wonderful album though.

When I listen to it though, I can't help but thinking of obtaining all the recording material in raw form and editing and remixing it into what it should be.

Avengesevenfold's first cd was very nice, had the song bat country on it. Very musical.
first cd? not even close....

...but city of evil (which is the cd you're referring to) has nicely recorded bass drums....

tool - undertow is another good cd...
