Great 10" SQ subs?

was going to buy a 12w7. i have heard they arnt very good sq subs though.. i dont care solely about sq i like some spl.. i just want it to sound good.. should i go with something else? i want it to hit hard though. any recomendations or is the 12w7 good?

They aren't good SQ woofers? Are you on crack? They are one of the best low distortion, low end monsters on the market

Huh? What specs would those be? Are you saying, that the T/S params indicate it isn't a SQ sub? You mean, the specs that are only helpful in determining how different enclosures affect it?

So, those wouldn't be the same specs that show BL, CMS, and LE curves? Or possibly 1st, 2nd, and 3rd order harmonic distortion? Because those, would indicate how a speaker sounds, and my guess is you have no ****ing clue what I'm talking about so you can just stop talking now.

I second the icon 10. Has a real nice clean sound and gets loud aswell.

There are two SQ subs they stand out from all the rest. The image dynamics IDQ series and the jl audio W6 series. You can't do better than that really. So take your pick.

Never used one, but they get great reviews. I'm sure you'll be happy with a pair of them.

Also, dunno why someone would mention a RE XXX when SQ is desired.

Hmm, from some quick searching it seems like the old XXXs (no random apostrophe) are not too bad when it comes to SQ.



However, it seems like subwoofer SQ on CA.com is different than the subwoofer SQ I've been reading about on DIYMA. I'd rather attain the latter.

personally i had the 10w6 and the now have the jbl gti 10in, no comparison, jbl is a serious refined sub, plays everything. a 10w6 is a great sounding sub, but if you want a detailed sounding sub, jbl. only thing is the box spec, they r kinda f--ked up, dude. if you have the room i would definently do that first.

i have some 10" O audio and i had it in a ported box to 35 hz. i think..but anyways great lil sub (had it in my dodge dakota) just for some fun
