i have a dell XPS 410 with a nVidia 7300 card which i removed and installed a Nvidia 8800 gts card. i used install disk that came with it and it says it was installed but now when i go to play a game it says current card is not 3d supportive and won't play anything. i did system check and says my video card is rated at a 1 out of 6 now and it was a 3.4 before. what gives? any ideas, i'm not too good at computer things.

If it was me I would uninstall all of the cards from the device manager and also uninstall the programs.

Then DL the newest driver package from Nvidia's website and reinstall.

X2. uninstall old drivers and d/l and install latest driver pack from nvidia

try getting driver cleaner then use that to uninstall the drivers. retart the compute,. then use the disk that came with the new video card to nstall the drivers, after the driver are installed restart. then go to nvidia and get the new drivers. see if that works
