Graphic Card

AMD FTL. Save up for a new machine.
Yeah, he totally should've bought a Pentium D based model instead //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
Anyways, like I said, there is ABSOLUTELY NO POINT IN SPENDING $120 ON A GRAPHICS CARD IN THAT SYSTEM. Buy an HD 4650 for like $70, install it, use it until you can afford to buy a new computer.

Vista wont either FYI. Unless of course it is 64 bit, which 64 bit XP will also.
I argued this with a friend of mine.

He claims that SP3 supports 4 GB of RAM.

I shrugged it off because I really don't care, nor will I ever need 4gb of RAM.

I have 2GB of DDR2(1200)... so, I'm straight.

Of course, XP doesn't make use of your extra RAM anyways, so it just sits there doing fvcking the dog and being a complete waste of fvcking money, whereas Vista actually utilizes more memory to make your computer faster. 8 GB on Vista flies (assuming the rest of your computer is quick, of course) and 16 GB is magnificent.

Crysis is the reason you are even buying a card.
Haha. So true. I haven't played it much though, been busy playing 360 games.

OP, rather than buying the computer you showed, I'd recommend building one yourself instead. It might cost a tad more, depending on what you get, or it could cost less, plus it's super easy. Your most expensive parts are going to be your motherboard and processor. From there it can be anything like your memory, graphics card, or even case. I spent about $170 on mine (case).

As for the time being, what games do you plan on playing? That will make a huge difference.

sounds like u want to upgrade alot of shit. ur system is poopie. no offence.

300 watt psu cant keep up with alot of cards.

and dont buy a card based on crysis benches. its poorly coded.ya its the best lookin game out right now but watever.

ur cpu will most likely bottleneck anything u do to your computer.lol

my 260 core 216 runs like 150ish fps on 22'' maxed

idskot whats ur xfire

32bit vista will not address more than 3.4MB of RAM(dont quote me on that, its just what comes to my mind for some reason.) It is possible to get 32bit XP to recognize more than 4 gig of ram but **** that takes a lot of hacking and it only works if the program youre running is specified to run with that extra RAM. As for 64 bit, the sky is basically the limit, as far as technology these days anyways. I think with 64bit OSs you can have it recognize up to like 128gb of RAM or something like that. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

No, any 64 bit Vista(Ultimate, Business, Enterprise...) will support 128gb of RAM. 64bit XP will also support this much physical memory. Another crazy thing is what these OSs should theoretically be able to support which is 16 exabytes(16 million terabytes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif:eek://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif)

In that case, buy a 9600 GT or HD 3870 while you're at it (whichever you can find cheaper). No point getting anything better than that because your 3800+ will bottleneck it.
A 9800 GT will run fine on a 500w PSU, plus it's a much better video card than the 9600.
