Graphic Card

If you have to choose between those two. I got get the OC'ed version.

But, If I were you, I would go all out and get something like a GTX280-260 or radeon 4870.

Get something that will last.

I bought my first gen 8800GTS 640mb two years ago. And I can still play and max out any game available. Except for crysis of course. Though I did SLI two of my cards and I was able to max crysis easily.

Uh, that would be retarded to pair with an Athlon64 X2 3800+ w/ 2 GB of RAM.
There are plenty of other games the 8800 GTS 640 MB can't max. GTA IV, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, anything that uses DX 10, etc. Hell, even with the Radeon HD 4870 512 MB (which replaced my 8800 GTS 640 MB because it was getting too slow), I can only run GTA IV on Medium-High @ 1920x1200, though it is still pretty poorly optimized for PC; hopefully the situation will improve through patches and driver updates.

Gah, forgot I got 300W power supply:crap:
ATI Radeon HD 4650 is your friend. It will play most games on high settings @ 1440x900/1280x1024 and it would work fine on a 300W power supply (We sell some HPs w/ those pre-installed w/ 300 watt power supplies and 95W TDP Core 2 Quad CPUs, so a 89W AMD Athlon64 X2 should be fine).
If you plan on getting a faster card (anything faster than a 9600 GT/HD 3870 would be a waste of money, IMO), you're going to need a power supply upgrade, which will up the cost another $50 for a decent 400W unit.

Reading the specs of your pc. I would say you need to upgrade to a higher end model. Try one of the i7 processors //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You will be cpu limited with just about any card. What resolution and AA AF settings do you use?

I plan on upgrading the RAM to about 4GB
Seriously, if you're going to throw this much money at it, just build a new computer.
A $75 graphics card update like the Radeon HD 4650 isn't going to break the bank and give you substantially improved performance over integrated (you still won't be able to max everything, even at modest resolutions, but it will still give good framerates at high settings in most games), but when you're throwing $120 at a graphics card, another $60+ at a power supply, another $50 at memory, etc. into an outdated system, you quickly enter into the realm of diminishing returns.

Can't afford to build a new pc ATM.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I just wanna play these games....
