Grand Prix GTP

My friend is looking for a new car, something with some power and still gets pretty good gas mileage, and is reliable. I suggested that he look into the GTP. Has anyone had any experience with one, and can you tell me if it was a good car. And how easy is it to make more power out of the supercharged 3.8 v6?

Well, smart people know what an LS1 can do, I still know quite a few people that don't know what an LS1 is capable of in stock form...

Have him get a 3rd gen camaro with the Lt1/T56 swap, cheaper for insurance, they don't have to know it dosen't have the little wimpy stock 6'er or v8.

well he currently has a '94 v6 camaro...and he realy just wants something with more power, as his car only has 160 HP...i think he wants away from rear wheel drive for some reason too...

I was told the ******'s in those cars arent the best...any truth to that?
I can attest to this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.. In my 1999 Grand Prix GT (same drive train w/out a SC), I went through an engine and a transmission. My buddy with a 1998 Grand Prix GT, same as mine, but red, and a year older, went through two transmissions.

The sad thing is, mine was never driven hard. It was babied all the time. I wish I could say the same for my friends car, he beat the shit out of the thing.

I would say that they are pretty reliable, as I am looking into getting a GTP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

Stay away from auction vehicles, as that is where I got mine at... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

What kind of auction?

My buddy has a GTP and the thing is a rocket. It looks like a heavy sled, but it has some balls. a complete sleeper too. plain white with tinted windows, yet he has so much into that thing. he is a mechanic too, so he keeps it running nice. GREAT sleeper cars and very capable.

THey dont really have many ****** problems until you mod them , then you might have to take a little less off your lead foot, but the GTP's had a HD version of the GT's ******. 4T65E is the HD lineup,

Only thing i dont like about them is how cheap the interior/seats are

Eh what can ya do
