grand cherokee Q's?

i got an 00' GC and i am told it has a computer that regulates the voltage at 13.8v.anyone had any experience getting around this problem??

The ECU doesn't regulate the voltage. The regulator built into the alternator does that. If you need to change the voltage, you need to have the alternator rebuilt However, if you raise the voltage too much, the other components in the car won't like it. In that case, your best bet is to add a second alternator to the vehicle.

i did talk to to different company's that rebuild alts and both said that my particular vehicle is regulated by the ecu so that's why i am looking for someone thats had experince with this vehicle.

Well holy hell... I did some further research and it seems you're right. I'd honestly never heard of it being handled in that way. Thanks for the info.

not a prob!if i find out how to get around this other than adding another alternator i'll post it.
