I did not have any kind of open house. I got like $7,000 but $5,000 went toward my new Nissan Titan, which my parents covered the rest of my truck. This added up to be over $25,000

nope, my family jus showed up after graduation and gave me like 10 bux a piece so i made off with about 30 bux. but then again, graduation isnt somehting thats terribly great, anyone w/ average intelligence can do it, dont know why people treat their kids like they jus won the nobel peace prize for graduating.

The money isnt a "here is a prize for graduating!", its for a leg up for college or if you're going out on your own. Having a party is tradition here in the upper midwest, everyone has them.

Nope. (High-school) Graduation is just another day in my family. No one really cares...it's expected of you just like cleaning up after yourself. College graduation, however, is a different story; since my sister is the only one who has graduated thus far (among me, my brother, and herself) we went out to dinner. I don't think she got money or anything like that.

You don't just hand out money in my family, and no, we're not [all] poor either.

I got nothing but congratulations and wishes from my family, and no money or gifts. I can't believe some of you got that much for graduating high school! I mean come on, to me, graduating high school was easier than my first year in college, even taking honors and AP classes in HS. It's not that hard to graduate high school. Try to finish college with a good GPA, now that's an accomplishment.

I grad, in 2000 and got my Expy in late June of that year..

Now that I am outta college I am hitting them up for a boat..
