GPS Tracking Systems

Hey all...

New to this. I keep noticing those GPS tracking devices for your car or person. Anyone have any good recommendations for a guy who wants to make sure his daughter is safe and going where she is supposed to be going?

I know there are two types. Both the type to go in the car and the ones that are portable.

Any ideas or comments?

they are all pretty decent now.

The higher up models offer more Points of intrest,text to speech (turn left on main st, in stead of left turn ahead" a phone book look up etc etc

spend about 200-300 and you will be happy

I think he wants a tracking device, so he can go online and see exactly where his daughter/car is, not a GPS for directions

I think you have to pay a yearly subscription for it. I remember seeing it once at a surveillance/security store

We use Deluo Black box and it works great. u download the box via blue tooth when she gets home. It reports locatlon stop time,speed,and gives u a destination map via google earth.

Yeah, I am looking for a GPS Tracking type device so i can monitor my soon to be 17 year old.

I have been looking on line at the installed type units, but i am leaning toward one of the portable devices. They seem a little "cooler" because I can take it with me.

I think I might like that.

Besides, from the research on line, the other installed ones seem to be very expensive and have a heck of a lot of bells and whistles she does not need.

Anway, any ideas or thoughts.

Yea thats the one we have it hard wired into the trucks.

i also think there is a certain phone company that has it where they will GPS track the cell phone, which may be a little better since cars get left places. Just a thought, you might want to look into it. And good for you as well for doing that, i think all parents should have it.

you can also take a laptop with you and use it as a gps unit as well.thats` what we use in our rollback. then we can track our trucks because we have internet in them as well. Heres a pic of our laptop install

x2, constantly monitoring and wanting to know where i was would only make it worse for me and would have made me MUCH more likely to do shit..it would just drive me crazy after a while

but, i'm not a parent yet, so i really have no say. do what you must
