You want to know something that will blow most people's minds? They are trying to raise taxes on the "rich", anyone making $125K-250K a year.

Doesn't sound like a bad thing, right? If your boss suddenly has to pay 25-35% taxes, how many people can he afford to employ? How much healthcare, vacation pay and other bonuses can they afford to offer? They can't.

Meanwhile, Google, Chase and many other mega-corporations pay Zero taxes or recieve a 5% tax credit! No party is out to help the common citizen right now. They might want to turn the economy around so they can write in some more pay raises for themselves and their buddies, but that's about it right now.
