I think we're mostly on the same page. It just seems it's no longer about the Left and Right, it's all about corporate interests and keeping the masses dumbed down and entertained so that we're not paying attention to the corruption. All cracked-out on the monetary system and entertainment industry with no rehab programs available. When it all comes crashing down people will be looking around at each other wondering what to do now. How will this affect my Dancing With The Stars time slot? lulz
You couldn't be more wrong, we are on EXACTLY the same page. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif
Ive been saying for a long time now that politicians play the 'hate the other side because they are satan' card to keep us all ignorant to the fact that they both play that game, to hide the fact that both sides are equally corrupt and inept. The whole idea of 'hey sure, we
suck, but at least we dont want deathpanels to kill your grandma, so vote for us'. How many times do you hear friends/family/acquaintances explain that they voted for a certain politician, or party, because they are the "lesser of two evils"? Both parties, and virtually every career politician in DC, feed off that attitude.
What's worse (or, just as bad) is we have let them set up a system that is virtually impossible to break into. Im not advocating the guy's views, but in Ross Perot's first attempt to get elected, he received a substantial portion of the popular vote (over 25% in an election that had 3 people ******* up votes, him Clinton and Bush Sr). But 4 years later when Perot ran again, the govt gave him/his party less than 5% of the publicly funded campaign money. The Dems and Repubs have stacked the deck so we have no real choice but to continue this cycle of voting for the lesser of the two evils.
One thing the Brits are smart about, is having a 3-party system. Its much harder to get into this 'us versus them' cycle we are in, that Im describing here, because if two of the parties start pointing them towards the brick wall, the third party can stand up and grab the wheel of common sense and responsibility, even if for no other reason than simply for that third party to gain political influence. Politicians are humans, and its human nature to be corrupt, take care of numero uno. Our two party system relies way too much on the 'good nature' of people to act responsibly with the billions and billions of tax dollars. Our system is truly doomed, the only question is if we, as a society, come to realize it before they pull our economy completely down around our ankles. Im not holding my breath.
