but anyone that knows anything about cars knows that a govenor runs off your tire spec's if you get better rims and tires going over 110-120 is not an issue unless you have a govenor which on GM's cuts you off at 108 mph. i hope that satisfies you on all your inqueries sir

As far as the govenor, the new vehicles have electronic transmissions which send info to the computer, the computer matches the programmed rpm and gear to the cut off of the vehicle. Tire spec does play a role smaller tires=lower top end. As far as 108 cut off my truck and every other GM vehicle I have had was 98 to 99 mph.

All GM vehicles with a computer have a plug under the dash by the glove box that can be bypassed to turn the limiter off. Basically the exact same thing he stated but with less work. All it does is turn off the coil/fuel management restrictors allowing for higher RPMs,more fuel consumption. The down side is at low RPMs you dont have full computer control of the timing.

All That Plug Is Good For Is Getting Your Trouble Codes Not Poss To Bypass Any Govenor Unless You Can Change Your Chip Which You Can't In 02 And Up Gm's

YOU CAN'T GM DOES NOT ALLOW IT B/C IT IS AGAINST THE LAW. THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN IS IF YOU SWAP A REPROGRAMED ECU FROM AN EARLIER YR THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE GOVENOR WHICH IS GOING TO REALLY COST YOU BIG

Dumb *** the trouble codes are checked in the diognostic port under the driverside dash. The wire I am talking about is a single brown wire with a clip for timing and fuel adjustments.

Carlo97 I honestly wouldnt suggest it. You would be better off getting a chip or reprogramer.

Its not illegal. How is it illegal? You are simply disconnecting the computer timing. And last time I checked pre 1988 GM vehicles did not even have a computer.
