Gotta Admit...

Reliable? lmao thats funny...if you know anyone that works at bestbuy in the customer service/returns department, ask them about how many "net-books" they see a week..
Neighbor has owned a netbook for 3 years now with 0 issues and they paid $350 for it.

and that means what? Most netbook owners do nothing but check email and play solitaire..and even with that, they are prone to tons of issues. Granted most are user error, they are just cheaply built.

but i know i know, let me guess hes a computer programmer for the umbrella corp..

A lot of user error comes with the software that is preinstalled on the computer and with people not having the slightest clue how to use a computer. If you do a fresh install of an OS on any kind of computer it will last you a long time unless you physically damage it.

Yea but see, i dont like having to do an entire system wipe, and reinstall, then reinstall old programs, then make sure "drivers" are up to date..its just not as user friendly as it "could" be..I use both types of OS for work and personal life..and the mac just works.

I remember the Mac os9 days..ugh..now that was a pain.

But OS10 is the sheezy:)

this tech *** asian in of my classes who is an Computer Engineer here at Cal Poly had a mac and i asked him why he had it over some other souped up computer and he said "People who dont know how to use computers have PCs, people who know a how to use everything and are learnging more use macs, people who know a lot and program a bit use PCs, BUT PEOPLE WHO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE **** THEY ARE DOING HAVE MACS."
/thread (he is asian---->in the 2nd best rated computer engineer school in the nation)
Yea... he just got those backwards. Apple is a great at making idiot proof products that do everything for you. Windows is good for people that like to do things their self and have it their own way. There's nothing "Do it yourself" with Macs, they dictate exactly what you can use and download and install.

i used to like playing around with things, doing them myself and such. but now that i won't have much free time at all. and will need my computer to be idiot proof and basically indestructible (software) a mac was perfect for me. plus i didn't even buy it... it was a grad gift.

got to love racism

so Much fail in this thread... MACS are overpriced and lack the performance, anyone who says their extremely reliable, must be idiotic with a PC running an alternative operating system, its not the buildhouse, but the Software.. And For laptops, ASUS or LENOVO, only. lenovo being a little upper priced. Both are solid and great products. Now for the reliability side, if your running good firewalls and anti-virus, you shouldnt have many issues. With working with computers frequently, 9/10 times its user caused. If you want the safest operating system, go Linux ubuntu...

i will never buy a mac. Much rather build one.. we're about 90% done with a completely custom i7 based computer.

I made the mistake of getting a SanDisk SSD when Newegg had it on sale. For a while I was running Ubuntu(with no problems, auto updates nearly every day, and I didn't have to find drivers), but recently decided I'd rather go back to Win 7. I made the mistake of putting my laptop to sleep, and poof! My SSD died.

I found out within a few days that SanDisk and a couple of other brands have this issue.

Ahh yes..if it cant play games at high-res, full-screen it *****..

it ***** so much, youll go thru the hassle of building a machine, just so you can run the Mac OS on it separately.

Makes perfect sense..
