Get out the boot disk and reformat.

hold on i know what it is, let me get you the link. i got it 7 times in the past couple days. uninstalled an update havent got it since.

go to control panel

go to programs and features

in the left frame at the top click "view installed updates"

when you get there and after it loads all updates

delete/uninstall these updates:

Update for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB973879)

Update for Internet Explorer 8 Compatibility View List for Windows Vista for x64-based Systems (KB973874)

i checked some stuff out on microsoft and they were having problems with these, stopped putting them out, then recommended that if you were having troubles to delete them. i did that and havent gotten the bsod yet.

they should be close to each other on the list of installed updates as they were put out at the same time.

also if your comp shuts off while trying it, boot it up in safe mode and try it. just keep in mind your internet wont work in safe mode so write the numbers down....

i restored and it seems fine, i will go ahead and do that now.
