it's amazing that people in there early 20's, especially ones going to college, would vote republican

my grandfather is a life long republican, and the last two elections he has voted straight dem.

that alone should tell you something about the modern day GOP.

Because of the Democrats views on public spending...Taxing me even more when I have no money to begin with. I have never agreed with things like welfare or public programs out the ***. Im very conservative when It comes to economic issues.

I never said that republicans aren't spending the money...and there are certain things that they spend it on, that I dont agree with either. But I would rather the money go to the millitary and even to a war that we dont belong in, than people that are too lazy to get a job. Belive me I know this first hand...I grew up in one of the poorer states in the USA...Louisiana, and everyone down here wants a hand out, and seeing this my whole life, makes me hate government spending on welfare, and and other social programs.

personally i think a little government spending to ensure that people aren't starving, freezing or dieing from preventable illness- in the worlds only real super power- is worth it.

first the us has the fewest taxes per person of any modernized country. welfare consists of such a little part of the budget. also that tax money goes into education, and helps provide grants for kids to go to college. it isn't just welfare as welfare consists of 1% of the budget. the deomocrats believe in taxing the wealthier more instead of giving them tax breaks like the republicans do. also republicans don't believe in labor unions, or for the big corporations making money so i don't see how you can claim to be poor and favor a republican

The main partener at the law firm where my mom works pays around 72,000 dollars in Taxes A QUARTER...Why should the rich get punished because they make more money? The top 5% of the wage earners in america pay 55% of the taxes...I would say that they are paying enough.

corporations don't pay nearly as much taxes as they should. we're talking more then a law firm. republicans are all about major corporations, like GM, disney, microsoft, etc. they don't pay nearly as much in taxes as the common man does, in relation to percentages
