Got some new subs today

Xtant X1044 (dual 4ohm) 10 inch

but I don't know too much about them. I downloaded the PDF from Xtant's website and it says to tune them low. Anyone here have any experiences with these? They seem really nice and built well. 500RMS with 2000 peak. btw I got them off craigslist for 100 for both.

I don't know much about their subs but their amps where pretty good. I think Xtant was a division of MTX or something like that. Can't remember for sure.

I do believe those are a few years old (98ish).They were a decent sub when they came out but the technoligy isn't to up to date.seen 2 12's do high 40's in a ported box bout 3 ft3.shouldn't be bad if tey've been takin care of.

I had the 12's in a sealed box and they rocked. Xtant at the time did own MTX. I haven't heard them in a ported box, but they are more on the SQ side, so low tuning seems appropriate. my 2 12's got decently loud in 2 cube box (1 cube per sub).

NO, Mitek owns MTX, Xtant,Coustic,Street Wires, Bass Slammers and about 100 other audio companys. also mitek manufacturs sub baskets for TONEs of woofer companys. RE, FI and so forth

what tuning frequency do you guys recommend? I was thinking 2.0 (only using one sub, the other for HT lol) at 29hz.....

I'd say bout 1-1.5 ft3 sealed and 2.25ft3 ported to 32hz 40in2 port probably 18-20in long
