Car audio is expensive. There's much more involved than big subs and a powerful amp. Wiring alone can cost a fortune.

buy this first and get 0 guage wire do big 3 and start from their, then you can get a big amp, then worry about batteries this is your main power source

you need the power say you bye a crescendo 3k amp wire it at .5 ohm you will send out 4000 rms, ur stock electrical wont give it enough power then pop your out of a new amp.

they come in 12's if you want to save a 100 bucks and put towards the alternator, these subs like 2000 rms,

and any of those other brands misfit said are good but will cost you more, these are cheap because they are the older models. its simple

I would do a pair of 18s or 15s, skip the optima and kinetik and save some money there, get deka intimidators

I'd like to know what kind of budget the OP is working with altogether. He says $1k for subs & amp, but how much money is he going to drop into his front stage, deadener and h.u.?

I also just noticed his statement about running 12" subs in order to retain SQ...

yea sq is not dependent on sub size as a 18 can sound amazing

12 are not necessary, and HU is done, brand new jvc
