got REEEEAAAALLLY bored this afternoon.

that's too bad ur cam can't pick it up...

do u think a pair of tens ported would outperform what i have in my sig? or would i be better off with 12's or 15's sealed? i mainly listen to rap and like a lot of bass. these are going in a trunk by the way. i appreciate all your input so far.

Cool, seems like a nice solid sub. What would be a good size enclosure for a single 10 ported?
I have my pair in a dual chambered ported enclosure. About .7 cubes before driver displacement, tuned to 30hz with about 10 square inches of port. That is of course per chamber.

Here's some pics, sorry for the quality they are from my cell phone.

It's a tough call honestly. IMO my pair is louder than the single XXX 15 they replaced, the XXX was in a sealed box. The pair is receiving the same amount of power as the 15 (both being run at 8 ohms mono). The thing I do miss about the 15 is its durability. I could beat on it all day long and not worry about it, but with the 10s on certain types of music (mainly rap, which I rarely listen to), I have to be careful about lower notes as they don't have a strong enough suspension to keep things in order.

However, for my listening tastes, mainly heavy metal, they do wonderfully and for the price I don't think I could find something that would perform as well as these do.

so these subs are geared more towards rock or heavy metal music? I'll prolly just stick with what I have then...
they are fine on rap. i wouldn't call them fragile but i'd just rather not beat on it with rap. my single ten definitely has plenty of output for rap (IMO).

no sub is really geared more towards a music genre. no speaker designer says "hey i want this thing to only play rock well, and not rap". doesn't really work like that. lol also i think its much harder to make a sub sound good on metal than on rap, anything that can play metal well will also play rap well.

in my case, i really only listen to rock and metal and i think these would please anyone who 99% of the time listens to rock or metal. they are sick on double bass. i have never heard a sub more accurately play the bass drum and with some authority. i'd they are a more SQ oriented sub but have a wild side.

i have one ported on about 600 watts, but i couldn't imagine two ported on 1200 watts. that would be sick as hell, and would be way overkill in my car.

it's probably not the sub i'd recommend to a bass head, sure you could get crazy crazy loud with a few of them on a bunch of power and get your whole car to flex but why.

Built one for a friends studio,
