got REEEEAAAALLLY bored this afternoon.

man, i really like the look of that sub. how much does the sub itself weigh? would u happen to know how much airspace a ported 12" would want?
it's 12 pounds for the ten. i'd guess maybe 15 for the 12.

EDIT: around a cube... maybe 1 and 1/4 or so ported is all the 12 will need.

Looks like a solid sub...
oh it is. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i don't beat on her to bad though. my system is more SQ than SPL. but she gets it for a single lower powered ported ten.

man i watched that last video about ten times now lol. i know it's a sq sub but how's the output on it? if the 12" wants about 1.25ft then a 15" should be about 2ft right? if so i should have room for 2 of em. i'll use a zx1500.1 for power.

output on her is pretty **** good. my last sub was a Treo SSi and i'd say it's a close call between which is louder. the HO deff sounds better.... thats for sure. but if i play hypnotize by jeezy and similar stuff my headliner, visors, and even the steering wheel starts to shake.

the SSi required a much bigger box, more port area, and i had more power on it but it still needed more. but i'll take the HO over it anyday.

the HO's like small sealed and small ported boxes. i don't know the exact specs or requirements on the 12 and 15 as i have not used them. but i'd guess the 12 would be good in about 1 - 1.25, and the 15 would be good in probably about 1.75 - 2 cubes. use winisd to figure the rest out.

also be careful with over 1500 watts. these things won't even need the full 600 watts they are rated at to get going. i'm not sure 750+ to each would be good mechanically.

If you're wanting to run an HO series driver ported, stick to the 10s.

The 12s really enjoy sealed boxes, about .8 cubes to be exact. I know it's just a computerized model, but putting the 12s in a ported box in WinISD barely made a difference, like to the point where building a ported box would probably be a waste of time.

I've had my pair of tens installed since about mid November, and I think it's safe to say that I helped convince tcguy85 to run one as well.

For the price of them, they are in my eyes extremely hard to beat, and when you factor in how well they do in small ported enclosures, with not a lot of power, they get even better.

I know I've said this a few times, but output wise, they easily match and IMO exceed the output from the 15" XXX they replaced. Sound quality is also again IMO leaps and bounds better than the XXX. Don't get me wrong, the XXX is a wonderful driver, I just felt it had too bloated of a bottom end to work well with my style of music, and the HO 10s suit my tastes much better.

yes you and Chad(from DIYMA) both are the reasons i run this sub. and i am glad i listened to the both of you! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

my last sub was very bottom heavy as well and i just got very unhappy with it(Treo SSi ten). this thing definitely compares in output (on less power, and way smaller box) and totally blows the it away in terms of SQ. money very well spent.

Dayton FTW!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

can u put up a vid of your steering wheel shaking?
i have tried recording flex and my camera just doesn't pick it up at all not even mirror flex or shaking. so booo. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif sorry.

and it's not shaking a HUGE amount but it's noticeable in person.
