Got New POS car

And they explode shortly after. Not to say that DSM don't when you put them in the 10s for that kind of cash. Regardless, cheap, fast, reliable, pick 2... That's all you get, unless it's a rotary. Then you get 1.
Well, of course you're going to be limited to few passes before something goes wrong. In no way am I degrading DSM's though, either. After all, it is the second fastest modified AWD car in the world and the fastest AWD 4-cyl. It has to be respected. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif But making it faster than a Foxbody for the same price? You missed me with that..

Not as fast from 0 to top speed. But in the 1/4 yeah. The AWD gives it a substancial advantage in stock form. It's easier to gear a Fox, but then higher you go, the easier it is to break em loose. I wonder what a stock 5.0 with 5.10s would run in the 1/4...

1st mistake, you bought a talon for a beater.

2nd mistake you didn't test drive it or thoroughly inspect the vehicle before purchasing it

3rd mistake you posted it on ca. com

Some people are so gullable.

IHI is a little 'nickname' for the turbos built by Borg Warner's IHI division. Factory installed on Merkur XR4-Ti's, SVO Mustangs, TurboCoupe Thunderbirds, and some Cougar XR-7's.

Also found in the Ford Probe. I pulled one of those and put it into my old 1.8 liter eclipse. Nice little turbo, $20 at the junkyard.

Considering turbos just stop working and all....
Guess you have never had a turbo lock up on you or a shaft break.

been working at dealerships selling parts for atleast 9 years now, anything Mitsubishi is going to cost you money. If you wanted a beater I would have went with a late 80's early 90's GM or Chrysler, parts are cheap and easy to work on

if i remember correct there is a lemon law in illinois that states you have 7 days from date of purchace of a vehicle in a private sale to return the vehicle for repair or refund. i'd look that up and see if its true and hurry before 7 days are up!

Before You Buy...

Whether you buy a used car from a dealer or an individual:

examine the car using an inspection checklist. You can find checklists in magazines and books and on Internet sites that deal with used cars;

test drive the car under varied road conditions — on hills, highways, and in stop-and-go-traffic;

ask for the car’s maintenance record from the owner, dealer, or repair shop; and

hire a mechanic to inspect the car.

posting some info I found...

“As is” means that you are buying the car exactly as it is on that day. The dealer will not be responsible for any problem with the car. If the car breaks down, you will still have to make the payments. There is no 3-day return rule unless the contract specifically says so. When you buy a car “as is,” you are taking a big risk. It is better to buy a car with a good warranty.

the vast majority of used cars sold by individuals will be sold "as is" with no warranty and no recourse should a major problem arise with the car. However, if you take some reasonable precautions by having a used car checked out by a qualified mechanic, and you are willing to take somewhat of a chance on a car, buying a car through a private party may be the best choice for you.

After you test drive it, you should take a few minutes to walk around, crawl under, and pop the hood of the car. Check to see if there is any dripping fluid, smoke billowing from the exhaust system, or any build up of dirt and grime on and around the engine.If you are testing a car for sale by an individual, it is also good practice to ask to see their file of maintenance records and any receipts of auto parts and repairs. Most people keep many of these records, and if the seller claims not to have any at all, you may want to view the car with a degree of skepticism.

Sorry bro, but it seems like alot of your problems would have been notice and caused some alarm if you had taken a decent test drive. I would imagine that your case would hold much weight in court. While I do agree you got a shitty deal. there were steps to take to keep from getting ripped off.

Also, I looked it up and you have no rights under the lemon law.

I just can't believe anyone would agree to handing over $1500 sigh-unseen for an as-is car with no guarantees, and then actually GIVE that money (+ $300 of course!) to someone without test-driving a car.

Dude, I hate to say it but.... you ASKED for this.

heres what he told me now

there waas no cracked coolant line cuz if there was there would be fluid in my garage and there isnt. for being only half throttle thats pure bullshit i heard it and seen it, it was alot more than that.. when i asked you to take it for a test drive you said "you didnt really care that much as long as it gets you home cuz you have friends that can get take the motor out and put it back in, in a half hour...as for the tire the rim wasnt bent its prolly from driving it fast on the rim i told you to pooch it to the gas station...did i ever say all that was caused from bad oil smartass, no i said there is old oil with other fluids and maintenance issues obviously from sitting for so long..you jus are pissed cuz you didnt get as good of a deal as you thought you were getting...thats why it sold for 1800 and not 2800, welcome to the year 2007; $1800 doesnt get you very far... sorry man if you would have called me at the gas station and would have pooched it down there with respect of the issues that were wrong then we could have worked something out but the way you were beating on it i knew you were gonna **** things up in it.
