So I contacted sony and they told me to send my headunit in and they would send me a replacement because it's under a 2 year warrenty. I was worried because I opened it myself to see if I could get to the cable that needed to be replaced and I ended up stripping a screw. good thing they didn't notice. got it back yesterday. pics later.
