thanks for all your help in answering my many questions. i got my alpine 9833 and kca420i installed. the ipod adapter is just sitting under the seat. there isn't really a good place to place the ipod in my car. so i will just set it on the seat or something when i am listening to it (95 civic).

the HU was a pain to install because whoever installed the pioneer HU that was in it before cut off the factory harness and i had to solder in all the wires of the alpine HU directly to the wires of the car. and the wires of the car were really short. but its in there and it works fine.

crutchfield has really good customer service. i called them a couple times. HU's are pretty easy to install too.

Glad you got everything installed.

Does your Civic have those flimsy cupholders that flip/slide (I can't remember) out of the dash right at the very bottom (in front of the shifter)?

There are a few options for mounting your iPod. Such as: http://www.cardomain.com/item/BKNF8E467 if you had a normal cupholder ...

If I remember correctly, there's a holder out there and doubles as a charger and plugs into your cig lighter ...
