how do you rate it's sound quality? i heard it's sexxcelent

as for hidden functions, try this with any pos-2001 alpine heaunit... Holding Power/Source button, quickly press any other button on the head unit, such as Bad/Tel, Mute, play, 1,2,3,4,5,6, etc...

i even made a thread about it a while ago ( http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=97690 ), see if you can find any hidden commands on it...

alright, but test some of these "hidden functions"... im curious to know what 7998 has hidden

just hold Source/Power and quickly press any other button... you can't really crap out anything unless you reset the eprom which will basicly reset all the settings to factory default or use those buttons that makes your volume jumps to 25 in a wink of the eye lol... in this case have the unit paused

dude, just have the unit paused on a cd when you try the keys... so it wont just blast your ears off if you hit it...

I replaced my 7897 with a 7998 a few months ago. Good squishee.

Just bought an older 7995 for my girlfriends car, too. Am picking it up today!

well i tried your hidden fuctions slaugh and when i held down the source button i pressed every button i could nothing happend all it did was turn off the unit
