Got mu PA A2400DB today and I have a few powering questions.

Just as the title says I picked up my new Power Acoustik A2400DB locally today and will be buying either a 0 or 2 guage wiring kit but for now I am just wondering if I could use my existing 4 guage with 80 ampe AGU fuse power wire and 4 guage ground wire untill I can afford the 0 or 2 guage kit?

What if I were to get a 100amp ANL fuse and ANL fuse holder in line with my 4 guage?

Like 17' long.

I called the car audio store and he said I can get away with the 4 guage for now but I'll have some big voltage drops becuase of the wires resistance and length and that I can even use the 80 amp AGU just don't crank the volume and watch the gains and when I can afford the 0 or 2 guage wirig kit to come back and he'll cut me a deal.

He said if interested I can pick up a 120 ANL fuse and holder for 4 guage wiring for $20.

Hell if the 80 amp AGU fuse blows who cares thats when I get the 120 amp ANL righ,no damage done to the amp right I mean thats what the inline fuse is there for isn't it?so that the wire cuts off before sending to the amp?

To be safe, just buy the 1/0 or 2 gauge set. Your amp is capable of pulling more amps than that lenth of 4 gauge can handle.

in other words, for 1000+ watts on a stock elec, you would suggest no less tha 1/0 guage?

2 gauge would work (225a capacity at 15ft)

but

1/0 Will be best for that lenth and amp.

alright, because i had a concept cc-d1200 off of 4 guage SCHOCHE wire no less, off a stock elec... little 60amp fuse... think i wasn't getting the output i should have?

Seeing that the concepts bench around the 900-1000 mark, you were fine. You might get more off a 2 gauge set.

just go to weldingsupply.com and order some 0/1 for cheapers and then just go to ebay and get a fuse holder for it

the kicker kit i'm getting comes with a fuse, and two runs of 4 guage with fuses for each, along with connectors and such
