Got metered...

well a friend and i have been installing a setup for another friend. We finally got done a week ago...and got metered last night.

with two RE 10 inch SE's, we hit 137.4 Db...

Overall i am very satisfied with the install...Any opinions?

Also, this was a full install, w/ components, headunit, subs, etc...

trunk car....suv? what was the box? ported? sealed? if ported what tuning?

It was in a 98 Mustang in the trunk. Ported box tuned SOMEWHERE in the 30's (Im not the box builder...)

Thats not much to brag about... What tone did you use when it was metered, did you do any tests to find the res frequency of the car?

for a daily car. be happy with 140. its a good daily score. imo - just above average.

we did no tests before hand...just set the gain reasonably, and let her go...It was with a sweep that they were giving to everyone.

i dont exactly think he is bragging.....looks more like he is looking for tips to increase it.

Also...the comp i was at was won with 8 Alpine Type R 10's...in the bed of a ranger ported to the cab...a 144.something...

Try positioning the box differently.

thats a okay score.....i did a 142.4 with 2 jl 10w3's with 600watts going to each ten..in a bandpass box tuned at 35hz..in a 1990 ford taurus.....dammmm i miss those days...........hopefully i'll get 2 re mt12's and and orion 2500d and see what happens

I need to get metered . . but I think 137. .. .isnt bad thats poundin "especially for a daily" good work check your tuning and box dimensions to fit your cars needs and you will score higher even without a big increase in wattage."meaning you may not have to go to a bigger amp to score a higher db.
