I would put it in a 4th order bandpass instead of that ported enclosure. You would probably have much better results.

Well, i dont have a ton of space. As for the reason i chose the XXX, because someone offered it to me in a trade so i took it...

The biggest box i could get would be about 7.5ft^3 GROSS... which would pretty much make it a trunk "wall". the trunk is like 40" wide, 40" deep and like 18" tall... I have been debating taking the seat back out and doing a little wall type deal but keep the seat bottom in case i need someone to ride in the back sometime... What do you guys think would be ideal size/tuning for this beast. Also will it hurt anything to raise the tuning a bit, like to 38~ if/when i do the wall...? Or will I not really need to?

FTR: i thought it seemed weird that this monster *** sub didn't even need as much box as the AQ...

Its the box. Like said above, RE's recommended specs leave something to be desired.

The XXX won't be as loud as the HDC, obviously. But that ^ is a huge part of your problem.

Well, i am doing a CD right now and I am going to get some Flex videos...

It feels good as **** but the HDC315 made your ears feel like they where going to explode and/or bleed... Probably just the higher tuning. I had a 6th order design sent my way so i might give that a try and see what i can do....

The (relatively) small box should actually make it peaky and louder in the higher freqs (more near the vehicle's likely transfer function). But it will also hurt the sub's efficiency. That sub would be a real brute if its coil could handle more wattage. But its design lends itself more to dominating in sealed applications, not so much ported.

so there wasn't really enough flex to make a video. Wasn't horibble but nowhere near my old setup so... Hopefuly I can figure something out or i will just sell this thing and go back to my HDC315

A SPL man it is, loves his ears to bleed.

Im loving the way my xxx 12" sub is kicking me in the heart and is so responsive and clear right now.

Not as loud as i expected, but i really don't care because i don't listen to it that loud and i suffer from some hearing loss already, don't need anymore.

I guess having flex is nice to show off, but the systems more for my enjoyment, id rather see watch the sub (trying to) hit xmax, than my panels flowing like water on camera.
