And I am bummed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif... '07 RE XXX15, Memphis 4K, a pair of Batcap 2K's, a run of 4/0 and then 2/0 connecting the batteries and going to the amp. 4ft^3 @ 33hz

And I like my old HDC315/VX2200D with stock electrical and 1/0 better... Is it just the low tuning that I am not liking? I mean it bumps but the AQ would make peole literaly get out of my car because it hurt your fukkin ears BAD! it was in a 4.5ft^3 tuned to 40hz and did a 146.3, that was before sound deadening on stock electric and teh above mentioned...

I just went with RE's "Optimal" enclosure, can i mey be raise the tuning or is there something else i can do? I even turned the gain up about 3/4 of the way and it still didn't impress me as much as my old setup...

Set your gains properly, #1.

And lower tuning usually means it blends better with audio, a higher tuning will make it a fart box, and will make it louder but make it sound worse.

Oh, and make sure that the insides of the box is really nice and sealed.

And it might make a difference where the sub / port are faced. So, try around.

I've always heard that RE lies about the 'optimal' enclosure for this sub. I was told that if you imput the specs on a box building program that you'll come up with a abnormally large enclosure, unless its sealed.

I set the gains right abd marked the amp so i know every time where it goes. I just cranked it up for a few seconds to see if there was a difference and there wa but still not as crazy as the AQ. I sprayed the whole inside with truck bed liner so she si sealed up good. Would it hurt anything rasing it so say around 38hz or so when i get my new box built?

(yes, I just built the box today but it is just a temp until the sound shop gets mine buil whenever they reach my name on the list... right now it is sub/port back (how i have ALWAYS ran it in this car) but i will try forward adn see of that makes a difference...

How'd you set your gain?

You are a moron, noob...

Everything he said was correct. Lower tuning gives a flater response, which makes it more pleasant to the ear when listening to music. Higher tuning freq peak much higher than lower tuning frequencies, which can cause unnecessary (and unnatural) resonance when listening to rock, country, etc.

So, next time you have a thought....

Just let it go.

IDskot always seems to spit shit he dosen't know about.. yea cause the OPs gain settings must be the problem..

These subs need a huge box to work, so you can STFU too noobx.. FTMFL

The XXX isn't an SPL monster, and it isn't built specifically for SPL like the HDC's are. In their optimal boxes off the same power, I'd expect the HDC to be louder, but the XXX to kill it in the lower octave. Why did you choose an XXX?
