on a side not BB is a turnaround job anyways. Anyone that last more than 3 years in there is probably over 30 and still living with mommy, so you didnt loose much.

****ing onstar and all that bullshit needs a GMRC01 (~$90 wiring harness) so the stereo can bypass all the door chimes\dome light, door lights, ect ect. and if they have a new bonaville (04+) then they have this freaky *** upgraded system, where the HU is basically the brain of the car, and CAN NOT be removed. it has to be moved to the glovebox\underseat\trunk\ect and you have to rewire the entire car (run your own speakers to the doors) and tap ignition\constant\ground from the steering column.

not to mention extending all the wires for that stock ****in stereo and relocating it.

its a *****... and if you do it wrong, the entire engine will stop working, all the airbags will deploy and the ECU will blowup. its not a good thing, not in the least.

airbags in the face doesn't sound fun; there was a recall for my model audi, whereas getting out of the car on a hot day and touching the door would product a static zap; which, in some cases, may deploy the airbag.

also, about speaker sizes;

every mainstream place i've checked (crutchfield, ebay, 12volt) all list the 96-99 audi a4 (b5) styles as having 5.25 in the front and 6.5 in the rear; It's a crock, they're 4".

i found a harness that would work instead of the GMRC01 it was for a 2000 Saturn, allthough you still have to find an accesory wire. and reverse the speaker leads so that the fronts are the back and the backs and the front..

hey man i got fired from bestbuy for somthing even more stupid than that... and to top it all off it was some bullshit I didn't even do. they could have PROVED it with a video tape but the managers decided they didn't want to.

whatever. i miss working with the guys i worked with but other than that I am 100 times happier installnig at circuit.
