i got my re 8's today, one week since i orderd them, thats pretty good time!

i have a question though about the box im building.

its 3.189 cubes after all displacement wich gives each sub .79 cubes and its ported and i was wondering if thats too much for an 8"? and its gonna be tuned to 34hz.

well i dont have a car or a lisence so i cant get install pics unless i throw them in my moms car and take a pic. i got em to hook em up in my room. but i can get box pics prolly from finish to end.

Hey...since you have those RE8's sitting right there, could you please tell me what is their mounting depth? Workin on putting a pair of these in a Nissan 240sx and have limited space to work in and am building the boxes before they arrive so their ready to just toss in. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

its about 4 inches from the mounting point to the bottom of the magnet.

Just a little input. Id go lower on the tuning to about 30 or 28 if these are the only speakers your using so they go a little deeper. Look pretty sweet, i might get some myself. Whats the rms on them?

well its accualy tuned to 33 not that much of a dif. but i cant go lower now i have the pieces glueing in the box right now. so ill see how it does. and if i want it lower ill build a new box sometime and tune it to prolly,, ill try 28 next time if i do.

Where these subs are going in the 240sx there is very limited space. They are not going to be in a box in the hatch area. They are going in the hollow area thats in the area where the rear arm-rests normally reside. I'll post up pictures of the locations later. Gonna go over to my friends shop to measure out the area in a bit. Anyways....anyone know the mounting depth and cut-out diameter on the RE8's?

i dont have an amp cuz its going in my room but my home theater thing puts out around 400 for the subs so i figure thatll work good enuff. thats about 100 each sub. it sould hit pretty well.

just got them hooked up in my room and i am very impressed they sound great and get real loud. its awsome!!
