Going beyond 2500 grit in sandpaper is gonna be a waste imo. If you want to go finer than that, move to a liquid (polish).

Thanks for the insite. i had thought about that myself, but i know nothing about this stuff... Any recommendations on polish?

Mothers' mag wheel polish + powerball = all that work in 1/10th of a time.
I wasnt impressed with the powerball i only used it on my rims, though... thanks for the comment either way:)

It was surprisingly easy.. i was worried about it, but it came out nice, imo! I am not done with it yet, though

Looks good but are you gonna have them in an enclosure where you can see them?
I dont have any current plans for this motor. It was just sitting around, and i wondered what i could do to make it look better..
