got a third ticket, am i going to lose my license?

Hey guys, I got my third ticket in CT in about 3 years, does this mean I am going to get a suspended license?

I fought all of the tickets i've received, the first one was 85 in a 55 and I got it reduced.

The second was passing a stop sign and "traveling fast" and I got that dropped to just passing a stop sign

Ever since my last one I have slowed down significantly, I was going 52 in a 45, but the second the 45 turned to a 30 I get pulled over doing 52 in a 30

I can't afford to lose my license because I am a full time commuter student at uconn...

I sent in the ticket to fight it in court, but what should I do?

I'm told there are ways around it like offering to submit the payment to a charity, or paying double the fine, are things like this true?

You really need to be aware of the speed limit signs... if you get nailed after this, you will be on public transportation.

There is no way you'll get your license suspended. I received 4 tickets in January and I still have mine.

Yeah but doesn't it vary from state to state?

Last driver training class I went to from my second ticket, I think the lady said I'd lose my license if i get a third, and my friend who went to a different class I think was told the same thing.

I'm aware I'll have to go to traffic school again, I just don't get why people always make useless posts, do you guys think I didn't learn my lesson or something?

I learned my lesson the second time, I was caught at a bad moment this time.

Like I said I was hoping that maybe in court if i offered to pay the ticket to a charitable foundation that they'd drop it, i heard this is a possibility, or that you could get out if you pay twice the ticket. Does anybody else know of this?

Was there a reduced speed ahead sign? If not you can fight it and possibly have it dropped down to the 52 in a 45.

I had the same thing happen to me. When I first moved down here I got it. I was coming down this hill on a major road and it curves to the right. As soon as your come out of the curve the speed limit drops to 45 from 55. Well thats where the cop was sitting(maybe 15 feet beyond the sign) And he clocked me at 57.

So he lights mee up, I pull over etc...

He says I was going 12 over the posted limit. I said the speed limit just changed to 45, and I was about to slow down and didn't have a chance because he pulled me over. He said thats not his problem, I have to be doing the 45 once I hit that sign. I then tell him how am I supposed to know that it drops, coming out of a blind curve with no reduced speed ahead sign? Once again, he said thats not his problem.

Right then and there I knew there was no talking with this guy. When I went to court, I explained the same thing to the judge and he dropped it completely with the courts apologies. He then told the issuing officer he needs to use more common sense when issuing a ticket under those cicumstances.

I go past there every day on the way to and from the shop, and at least twice a week cops are posted up there(still no sign). I wonder how many people they've gotten with that crap. It's just a money spot for them, thats all. Every other time there is a drop in the speed limit in town there's a sign, but not that blind curve.
