Got a port question.

If a speakers manual says to use a slot port , do u have to use a slot port or can u just go a head and use a round port?

You could use a round port if you like the look of it better, but be sure to correctly carry over the measurements to the new port design...sometimes, they recommend slot ports because it would be too much of a hassle to use round ports and not end up with port noise...

So I can't just build the box to the cubic feet required, and the tune to like 40hz or what ever with a 3" port?The subd is a kicker cvr15

i would go with 4" just to be sure there wouldnt be port noise, but you would have to make the port longer

also its easier to make a slot port bend, oposed to a round.

Doing a slot port looks harder but really isnt and it will be cheaper because u wont have to spend extra on the PVC
