Got a package

yeah he used thoze pool noodles cut in half //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifpretty novel idea. worked ok we just have to remember that when shipping ppl moving way to fast for productivity have their hands on our packages
//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif, those pool noodles are actually one of the best ways to ship heavy things. Actually, there's a sticky somewhere on this site advising the use of pool noodles when shipping heavy subs / motors / etc. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

What soft parts are you going to go with for this sub? Have you decided? I don't think I've seen an 18" TC9 built up lately. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I initially wanted to go with a dc lvl 5 but the coil length is 75mm and would bottom out to easily. u have any suggestions? im pretty open at this point. already have the basket lined up just contemplating on if i should paint it or not and what color

I'd paint the basket black //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

And as far as soft parts for the TC9, I'm not exactly sure. I haven't gotten to play with one yet, though I've been really close, but I wanted one with the 1" slugs, and the prices I find them for are never too tempting to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif.

Please be sure to keep us updated on this sub, I'm curious as to the final soft part selection here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

What are you looking for as far as power handling?

I was going to build my TC-9 into an 18 but was told it didnt have enough motor strength.. I dont know. Cant wait to see it though.

BTW, I had a TC-9 with Fi Q coils, so that is an option.

WHAT SUB IS IN UR SIG?

You don't want a coil winding length any longer than about 40mm with a TC-9 that has 3/4" slugs or you'll risk touching the back plate. The flux gap is about 6mm wide and you can stuff an 8 layer flatwind in there without any problems. That will help keep the BL product up. I would try to use two spiders if you can to prevent rocking and rubbing at the extremes of excursion if you intend to fill the gap with that much coil.
