Got a New AVIC 700BT, But..

I just had the AVIC 700BT installed. Unfortunately the System Settings and Navi Settings icons are grayed out. I can change any of the system or navi settings.

Doe anyone happen to know why? The "professional" installer doesn't seem to know either.

They should only be grayed out while your car is in motion

its a safety feature

you can bypass it

Forgot to mention. It's still grayed out while in Park.

They probably didn't install it properly. Take that ish back.

Yea they either didnt bypass it correctly or hook it to the parking brake correctly.

Either way you need to take it back.

You haven't had anyone mess with the software either have you? One of the bypass methods involves modifying a software setting on the unit. If that's been goofed up, you might get the problem that you're having.

IIRC, it's a speed threshold for the parking brake bypass that can be modified.

Just figured I'd throw it out there in case if everything is wired correctly and you're still having the problem.
