nothing major to share, just managed to pick up a pioneer DEH940MP for my truck this weekend. paid $200 for it, and so far, im lovin it. my only gripe, is visibility in the sunlight. and i wanna change some of the background stuff, i can have a shop do that cant i? or do i have to buy the PC link kit.

and also, the cell phone mute/att deal, if i buy that, does my phone plug into it or what, im not fully understanding it, but intrigued. and i wanna get a mic to do the auto eq //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Nice price, Sally. Yes, visibility in sunlight blows. To change the background, you just download the program and burn the picture/screensaver to a cd via their instructions ( http://www.pioneer.co.jp/car/pclink3a/index-e.html ). Don't know anything about the phone muting. The auto-eq mic blows IMO.

their auto eq sucks......just doesn't do a good job....

ps, that cell phone thing works by (as far as i know) detecting when there is a signal coming to or going from the phone and mutes the stereo that way, it doesn't actually attach, it sits under the dash/hidden away

i was starting to gather that with the cell phone deal, i just needed someone to confirm that. im gonna have to check into that, sounds pretty cool.

as far as changing the backgrounds goes, i still cant figure it out... ive got two versions of software from pioneer and i have made some and burned them to a cd, but i get nothing... oh well, ill go and ask a shop, they should be able to figure it out for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Actually you can't change the displays by burning it to a cd-r with this deck. The '04 models were the first units to incorporate that. The 940 still requires the cd link kit.

Really?? I've never had a problem with mine and 2 of my frineds that have Pioneer decks use them as well and have never had a problem either. What carrier and brand of phones do you have?? We use Motorola phones with Nextel and it mutes our radios even with a direct connect.

wow really? ive been using pioneers since i got my first car. and none have worked. and ive had about evey carrier (verizon, cingular, nextel, sprint, t-mobil, at&t) and phone (nokia, motorola, audiovox, lg, kiocera, and more i cant remember). and never has it ever worked. thats really weird
