cliffs

new smartphone

unlocked

can be used on tmobile or verizon (not at&t)

can be bought out right or with contract

android based

I really dont see this to "kill" the iphone, but its always good to have more competition to get things going.
It does not work with Verizon, Just AT&T and T-Mobile. It only works with T-Mobile 3G and will only work on the Edge network for AT&T.

I'm planning to get this phone within the next month. How much is the bill with Tmobile if I get it with contract and without? As far as I know, without contract the lowest bill comes out to be $60, with contract, the bill is $80. Am I right? If so, I would rather buy it unlocked because I would rather spend the $500 up front than to see a $80 bill every month. After a year or so, it comes out to be a better deal anyways.

And wtf is wrong with Verizon (and Sprint)? Who fuking uses CDMA?

They use CDMA because it is the better technology for phones actually, ehat these networks were originally designed for. hopefully as we start going to LTE all the comaonies will use the same band so all phones will be able to be used on all carriers.

cdma>gsm. cdma is far more effecient and able to handle mor calls per tower

I think the strengths of CDMA do outweigh the weaknesses, like you stated, it is much better for a large user community, something AT&T is finding out the hard way, however GSM does have a few advantages. It is faster for data, as has been pointed out AT&T's network is faster, when you have access it that is. Also, you can talk and surf at the same time, even though that doesn't matter to me at all.

lulz, did you hear that the Phillip K Dick family is sueing google over the name of the phone. For those of you whom don't know who Phillip K Dick is - he wrote the book "do androids dream of electric sheep?" which was made into the movie Blade Runner. The androids in the movie were called Nexus 6 models.
